Hi Amanda & Daniel,
Just a short update. It was nice to see Grandma Beth and Uncle Henry. G. Beth is in good spirit, but has lost all her hair and is generally in pain due to chemo and radiation therapy. Her voice is hoarse too. Her therapies will go through Feb. 09 and they are taking a toll on her. Her little town is quite charming. There is a cool coffee shop converted from a small church with a lot of stained glass windows and is creatively decorated. Sunny & Sheba are good, a bit gray in their faces. We didn't see David or Lisa. We visited Harpers Ferry, a famous civil war spot. It is a gorgeous location in the fall, where basically the Potomac River meets three states - Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. When you are studying American Civil War, Daniel, you should visit Harpers Ferry and other battle fields. U. Henry is well considering that he is going through a divorce. He and Beth got along really well and talked a lot. G. Beth took us out to an authentic Peruvian dinner; it was really good. It was great to see Dan and his new environment. Dad & I were very impressed about the network of caring people, who knew that Dan was sick and asked how he was doing. It was also very cool to video chat with Amanda. It must be hard to face the obstacles now, but a few years down the road, this will be a valuable experience from a different perspective. I did post the trip pictures on snapfish.com and send them you. Let me know when you receive them.
Love you guys :-) I have to get back to my work. Talk to you soon again.
Happy Mama
