Something Interesting

To My Two Favorite Young People on Earth,

I thought this is interesting to share with you. I interviewed Louise for my "Divorce/ Remarriage Class". We had an in-depth talk about his relationship with his first wife. He said that he was blind-sighted by the infatuation and convenience of having someone that he totally bypassed some important factors that eventually led to their divorce. As time went by, they began to resent each other for what the other person could not be. They broke up quite violently, and the police was involved. That was the turning point for Louise. He said that he wishes to have moved on earlier when he realized he could not live with a person like her. But because they had children together, he didn't leave until he couldn't take it anymore. They have been obligated to each other because of their children for almost sixteen years after their divorce, and they are still in a "war of custody". He is glad now that his children see the effort he puts forth as their father, and he advises everyone to take 5 years to get to know someone before getting married or having children, not to ignore things or hope to change that person, and get a really good attorney to get through a divorce. He has spent half a million dollars so far on attorney fees and spouse/child support!

You guys are adults now, and these are really important issues in a society that emphasizes choice. We must be smart and make sound choices to lead a good life. Louise is OK that I share with you guys, because he even told me to tell you to be smart in relationships to avoid the mistake he made.

Love ya,
Mama
