Did you meet your goal on luggage requirements?

Good to know that your sale went well and that you were at ease parting with your stuff! Will you need to donate some stuff?

Dan left yesterday. He arrived safely and began classes today. Miss him already!!

Did you have a chance to talk/write to PauPau? Hey, would train fares be much better? I don't know how much time it takes for the journey? Do you want to check it out?

My internship is going well, quite challenging! The directors are really nice to work with, and they expect a lot from me. My title is Volunteer Administrative Coordinator, and I'll be training Board member volunteers; creating parent information sessions that have not been done before; creating a pilot parent organization at Hoover Elementary to be a YMCA base for the families in the community; and helping to market Stair Climb, a major fund-raising event downtown for the Y - it's set up like a marathon and people raise money for the Y by going up the tallest building in downtown (U.S. Bank Tower). I think the six weeks will go by quickly with all these different projects keeping me busy!

So...you know about Palin's resignation of her governorship? She didn't give a reason - I think she is going from nonprofit governmental work to doing something for-profit. I hope she does not think that she could go off to run for presidency in 2012 - she couldn't even finish the job she was elected for! Real bad move! We need a woman leader who is intelligent and with a track record of accomplishments, and she has proven to be neither. I am sad for our country that we are so behind! There are obviously a ton of super smart women in various fields, but somehow they are not interested in the presidency...maybe except Hillary Clinton. What can we do with the upcoming generation of girls?? How do we tell them their presence in government is very important if we want to move forward as a country? What do you guys think?

I'd better go to do my homework now.

Love you guys,
Mama
